How do I apply to become a Designer for Kappa Settings 2026?

What is provided to the Designers from Kappa Settings?

Kappa Settings will provide one 72” round table with a 120” round white tablecloth for 10 guests. Please note these are not floor length linens and designers are encouraged to bring their own linens.

NEW for 2026! Whim Hospitality has partnered with Kappa Settings 2026 offering designers a discount on rental needs, including chairs, linens, delivery and pick up. Additional information with instructions will be provided to designers when filling out the Designer Special Request Form after submitting the online application.

When is 2026 Kappa Settings?

Kappa Settings will take place Wednesday, April 8th, and Thursday, April 9th, 2026 at Austin Country Club.

Do Designers get to attend Kappa Settings?
-
Yes! You are welcome to join us for the Cocktail Preview Party on Wednesday, April 8th from 6 - 8 p.m. and Thursday, April 9th 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Many designers view this as a wonderful opportunity to greet guests and discuss your designs. This is a great opportunity to speak one on one with over 500 total attendees that attend Kappa Settings!

When are Designers required to move in and move out?
-
The Designer shall decorate the table on Wednesday, April 8th, between 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The table must be completed by 2 p.m. for photography/media. The Designer agrees to move in and arrange their items during this time period. The Designer will dismantle all decorations immediately following the luncheon, beginning at approximately 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 9th, and finishing by 4:00 p.m. The Designer will work closely with the Design Team and Logistics Team to ensure a smooth flow.

What is required from the Designers?

Please submit your contract and application as soon as possible!

To showcase your beautiful design on the table provided.

The Designer will supply packing material and labeled boxes for quick access to enable proper packaging of tableware (glassware, flatware, & dinnerware).

It is strongly recommended to bring your own collapsible wagons and/or dollies to make your unloading and loading experience as streamlined as possible.

The Designer or the Designer’s associate must be available for the storage of table items after the Thursday morning viewing, prior to the luncheon. The turnaround time is approximately 30 minutes.

If communicated beforehand (with the Designer Team Lead) that the Designer cannot be available to dismantle the table after viewing and prior to the luncheon, Active Kappa volunteers will remove all décor and place it in the Designer’s supplied packaging. Deadline to request assistance: March 30, 2026.

Will the Designer receive any special recognition?

Absolutely! The Designer will receive recognition in printed materials: Including the Kappa Settings 2026 Program, Kappa Settings website, Kappa Settings social media, publicity credit: credit in any photo used for publicity, and your designs will be seen in person by over 500 attendees!

Can I place favors on my table?
-
We recommend setting out favors at your table on Thursday morning. If you are coming that morning for viewing and have favors for your table, please put your favors out then.
